The Dawg Committee
Rules for Pet Dogs at the Cabin have been assembled by the Cabin Dawg Committee. The committee was formed by members of each of the 5 partners, who were authorized by their respective cabin voting members to assemble rules, etiquette, and assumed risks for owners of dogs who choose to bring their canine friends to the cabin. Here they are:
Rules regarding dogs at the cabin
Location
- Basement only! (meaning nowhere else inside, at ANY time)
- Door shut to the basement stairs
- Dogs may enter only through the back basement door
- No front or back door access/entrance for dogs on the main floor
- Front/back porches okay
- DOGS NOT ALLOWED ON MAIN AND UPPER FLOORS
Fees
- Per Dog
- $10 per day per dog
- Maximum fee $50 per week per dog.
- Fee purpose to provide for periodic professional cleaning
Cleaning
- Thorough cleaning is mandatory!
- Basement must be vacuumed, including edges
- Poop spots must be cleaned and disinfected
- Urine spots must be cleaned and disinfected
Outside
- Scoop it and dump it (just like on your suburban street)
- No trace left behind
Liability for any damage or injury caused by dog is assumed by the
dog owner, not the cabin. (Bites, medical expenses, damage, etc.)
Final Rule: Should the dander and hair and mess become a problem,
the Dog Committee reserves the right to reconvene to discuss evidence and reconsider the dogs allowed policy.
