Our sweet Nancy Richards Poulton passed away on Saturday, November 20. She was 100 years old. We are all going to miss her.
Rick, Carla, Marianne, Mike, Janet, Clark, Don, Amy, Kathy, Bret, and all their children and grandchildren will especially miss her. I've attached the obituary. Her funeral is on Monday, November 29 (see obituary for details).
I am going to share some thoughts and perhaps we all could share some memories.
As many of you, I loved her. I knew her best of my grandmother's (Marian's) siblings. She and her daughters helped care for me when I was very young and I have fond memories of those times. Everyone who met her was welcomed with smiles and love. We have met two of her missionaries from the New Mexico mission: one was our bishop in Spokane and the other served with my husband Iraq. Both spoke glowingly and reverently about Nancy and John. They also married women reflecting Nancy's faith, optimism, and love for others (I can't help but think that Nancy became the standard they set for their brides). She was a woman I looked up to and have tried to emulate. We have all been blessed by Nancy.
